Trunk or Treat

Please make plans to join us as the middle/high school teens treat you to Holy Family's 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat on Oct. 23 from 7 - 9 pm! It is a safe alternative to trick or treating. We will have the lower parking lot full of trunks in a well lit area for children and youth to go from trunk to trunk. There is a prize for the best decorated trunk! There will be hayrides, pumpkin decorating, face painting, games and more. Men's club is providing hot dogs and chips.

Trunk or Treat is a free event. Free will donations will be accepted and help to off-set the cost.

If you would like to register your trunk to pass out candy to approximately 200 kids, please contact mindy@holyfamily.com or rob@holyfamily.com.

We are going to need several teenaged volunteers to help make this a successful event! There is a planning meeting on Oct. 11 from 1 - 5 pm where we will choose jobs for ToT and plan all the details that will go into the event. Pizza will be provided. If you have a teen that is interested in helping out at Trunk or Treat, please contact Mindy or Rob.

Sock It to Poverty

We are still collecting men's, women's and children's cocks and underwear to go to Redemptorist Social Service Center. Please keep bringing in your donations! Leave them on the counter in your child's classroom. Each rooms items will be tallied and results can be seen in the hallway. Our competition will end on Oct. 25/26. The class at each session that collects the most items will be treated to an ice cream party!
It's time for Blessing of the Animals! Details here.

Bring your pet and join us for Blessing of the Animals on Oct. 4 @ 2 pm!

4th Grade Mass

Any 4th grader here at Holy Family who wishes to participate in the 4th Grade Mass on Saturday, October 17, is invited to the 4th grade mass practice on Sunday, October 11. Meet in the church near the altar at 12:15 pm. Parents need to plan to stay with your 4th graders. We will need several readers and people who would be willing to bring up the gifts. For any questions, please contact Mindy.

Middle/High School to Corn Maze

Join us on Oct. 17 as we head to the Liberty Corn Maze. You do not need to be enrolled in PSR to join us - bring your friends! Cost to attend is $10. We will meet in the RCIA room (lower lot) and plan to leave by 12:30 pm. We will return to Holy Family by 4 pm. Permission forms are required (if you have not already filled one out, please click on the link below and bring it with you.) If you have any questions, please contact Mindy.

Catholic Worker House

It's PSR's turn to help at Catholic Worker House. We will need several people to sign up to bring meatloaves, potato casseroles, green beans and brownies. We also need people who would be willing to go down and serve the meal! Please use the link to get more information &/or to sign up to bring something.

Do Families Belong in Church - from Partners in Faith

If you have ever raced into the pew after Mass has started, juggled a crying child during the homily or shuffled in children dressed in less-than-Sunday best, you may feel that the Church is only suited to perfectly behaved and pious families. Yet all the messy, wonderful families of God are welcome in the Catholic Church.

The parish is your home. It is in the parish that we share faith. Parents are the most influential teachers of that faith and catechesis for their children. That makes you values and important to building up the Catholic Church. Those occasionally scruffy, sometimes noisy children you bring into the church are our future.

The Church is for you. What do you need? Do you have questions or doubts? No question is too big or small for your pastor or priests. They want to help. Come to Mass weekly and give them opportunities to get yo know your family. Ask for support in your family faith journey. It's what the Church is meant to do.
