Tabar Talks
As we continue to hold off on any real winter weather at this point, we are more than halfway through our busiest week of the year. During this busy week we have celebrated the great people, pieces, and parts that comprise Catholic Schools throughout the entire nation. Our week started off with an amazing Open House that brought the community together and invited new families to join us. On Monday, we had our Knights of Columbus Free-throw Championship and Athletics Pep Rally with a surprise visit from the Cleveland Cavaliers mascot, Sir CC. Tuesday, we were as cool as we wore our sunglasses to school. On Wednesday, we started with Mass celebrated by Fr. Ireland and Fr. Klasinski. Mass was followed by two awards ceremonies for our excellent essay-writing and finished with the Spelling Bee. Today was Career Day, a special thank you to all of our volunteers as we looked at careers, vocations, and discussed discernment.
Through these events, “The Academy” has focused on the values Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.
Lastly, we would like to invite you, one final time, to join us for a “Supper Bowl” of Pasta as our 8th graders raise money for their Washington, D.C. field trip. The Pasta Dinner is Sunday, February 2, from 1:00 - 5:00 pm in the school gym. Please consider enjoying some amazing food for dine-in or carryout. Your patronage is truly appreciated.

PARKING LOT DRIVING SAFETY
As you all know safety is PRIORITY #1 at the Academy. Just a friendly but firm reminder that while driving in the all of the parking lots we ask that you utilize extreme caution and drive at speeds no faster than 5 MPH.
Also, please be aware that PRE-K Drop-off takes place from 8:00 - 8:15 am on the eastern most side of our property. It is a narrow passageway and we need to make sure that we use extreme caution when driving past our Littlest Eagles!
TAGS,TAGS,TAGS,TAGS
WE CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THE IMPORTANCE & SAFETY OF CAR TAGS for child pickup at the end of the school day. Safety among your children and our faculty and staff is number one importance. With the car tags, faculty/staff members will be able to easily identify the correct car to the correct child in the car rider pickup line.
To Use: Place the car tag on the passenger side sun visor. When entering the car rider line, flip the sun visor down to display the car tag (held with a paper clip or rubber band). This allows the faculty/staff member to announce the child(ren) for pickup.
All families should have received their laminated copy of the car tag - there are 2 car tags to 1 sheet of paper. If additional car tags are needed, please contact the school office with your last name, grade level(s) for child(ren), and quantity needed.
Thank you for the recognition of this and your adherence to these requests as we make CCA the safest school in town. Have a great day!

Influenza and Other Illnesses
What can you do to limit risk?
If you suspect you may have been exposed to 2019-nCoV because you have traveled to China or have been around people who may have been exposed and/or are exhibiting symptoms, contact your healthcare provider and let them know you may have been exposed to 2019-nCoV before visiting the healthcare facility. This will help the healthcare provider’s office take precautionary steps to keep other people from being exposed.
Just as with influenza and other illnesses, it’s critical to protect yourself. Experts at the Ohio Department of Health recommend these tips:
● Practice good hand hygiene.
● Follow appropriate cough and sneeze etiquette.
● Don’t go to work or school when you feel ill. Stay home and rest.
● Avoid exposure to others who are sick.
“Anticipatory action like this is critical to ensuring that we are protecting Ohioans,” Dr. Acton said. “It is our sincere hope that this virus does not spread but if it does, Ohio’s public health system is prepared.”
Although 2019-nCoV is an emerging illness, the Ohio Department of Health has addressed similar issues in the past including two previous coronavirus outbreaks, MERS in 2014 and SARS in 2003.
In addition to the latest work of declaring 2019-nCoV a Class A disease, ODH also routinely collaborates with healthcare providers, local health departments, local health partners, and the CDC to share information and best practices for addressing other potential infectious diseases. For more information about 2019-nCoV, visit our website at www.odh.ohio.gov.
