Counselor Corner

During the month of January, students are flexing their empathy muscles. We are learning how to see things from different perspectives and celebrating our differences along the way. Students will learn why fair doesn't always mean equal, show kindness to others, and learn about self-compassion.

January is an especially exciting time for our 5th grade students, as they make their middle school course requests. Parents will be able to view their student's selections by accessing their student email account - additional communication will provide more details. Be sure to stay updated on the middle school transition process by visiting our Middle School Registration page.

Save the date! Red Mill will once again be participating in the Great Kindness Challenge, a week set aside to cultivate a community of kindness in our classrooms and beyond.

At Home

We know that kids are like sponges - they are always watching and listening to the adults around them, learning how to navigate and interact in our world. With everything going on in our lives, it can be difficult to show kindness in our daily interactions. This makes it even more important to consciously model kindness and inclusivity. By watching us, our children will learn the power of relationships and see the value in contributing to their community.

We invite you to join in the fun this month by accepting the Great Kindness Challenge Family Edition (signup required).

Dismissal & Attendance Information

When communicating with the office regarding dismissal changes or attendance, please ensure you are using the generic email address This ensures that your email is seen in a timely manner since this account is being monitored by more than one person.

Tracking Your Student's Bus

Edulog Parent Portal lets parents see the time and location planned for school bus arrival at their child’s bus stop. The app also lets them view the location of the school bus to gauge arrival times each day and sends a push notification to their smartphone when the bus enters a user-defined geographic area around the stop. Parents only receive access by registering with data unique to their child. It’s all information to help parents feel secure about their child’s trip on the school bus!

ParentVue Accounts

ParentVue is the application that allows parents to access information regarding their child's attendance, course history, class schedule, grades, test history, and other important documents such as report cards. If you have not signed up for an account, go to

How do I know if I have Opted-in?
You can check if you are opted-in by texting “Y” or "YES" to 67587.

How do I opt-out?

You may opt-out at any time by texting “STOP” to 67587.

What if I opted-out but later decide I would like to opt-in again?
As long as your child’s school has your text-enabled phone number on record, you may request to begin receiving text messages by texting “Y” or "YES" to 67587. If the school does not have your text-enabled number on record, you will need to contact the school.
