BES Principal Newsletter
January 13, 2023
Good evening BES families!
I hope this newsletter finds you well! Today marks the end of our second marking period, hence the half days today and yesterday. A lot of awesome things happening here at BES as highlighted below:
- We are working hard on collecting new MAP and Acadience data on our students in reading and math at the district, building and classroom level. We will use this data to help us structure our staff to make the biggest impact on learning, adjust lessons being taught in the classroom and improve overall achievement across the district.
- Report cards will be sent home with students in their Friday folders on Friday, January 20th.
- It's hard to believe that we will be celebrating our 100th day of school on Thursday, January 26th (pending no snow days) A lot of the classrooms have a special way to celebrate this day so be on the lookout for more information from your child's teacher.
- Looking for ways to get involved at BES? A team of staff is looking to put on a dance for the elementary this spring. There is a parent meeting next week (see flyer below) if you would like to offer your time and energy to this great event. I have heard its a big deal and some students are beyond excited knowing that it is in the works!
- Our PTA meets every month in the elementary library. This organization is ran by past and present parents who team with staff and administrator to provide educational materials, experiences and training to our Byron students. We would love for you to come and see how you might be involved in this group!
As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns. Thank you for partnering with BAS in our mission to education all students to become productive members of society!
Educationally Yours,
Mrs. Johnson
