What's Happening In the Fifth Grade

We would like our students to read over the break as much as possible. Here is a link from the district with book recommendations. Happy Reading!

Have a safe & wonderful winter break! We will see all of the students back at school on Tuesday, January 5th.

Curriculum Corner

Reading: The students will continue elements of a mystery and have their midyear assessment.

Language Arts: The students will compose an expository essay.

Social Studies: We will begin the American Revolution. Events leading up to the war, famous patriots, strategies, and battles will be analyzed.

Math: We will be using area models to represent the division of a decimal by a whole number.

Science: We will be identifying and comparing the physical characteristics of the Sun, Moon, and Earth and classifying Earth's day/night cycle.
