Announcements & Activities
Calling all gardeners!!
Produce is growing but the weeds are too!! Focus areas include: the main garden around the onions, cucumbers, peppers, etc. We look forward to sharing a plentiful harvest but need to be sure our crop has room to grow without the weeds!
Please consider dedicating an hour of your time to help us pull weeds this week and get the garden looking great!
We have individuals that plan to be at the garden the following days:
- Tuesday 8 am
- Thursday 9:10 am (immediately following morning Mass)
- Saturday mornings 8 am
"The philosopher who said that work well done never needs doing over never weeded a garden." -Ray D. Everson
Reminders
- Please turn the water off at the main turn off AND on the hose to ensure it is completely shut off.
- Also, please be mindful of the plants and planter boxes when using the hose. Avoid dragging the hose over plants & boxes.
Thank you!

- "The rabbit I scared out of my potato plants last week was actually raising a litter in a bunny hold under the potatoes! As I was harvesting early evening I found the hutch." -Marco: 2 Rabbits: 0
Harlequin Bugs
Harlequin bugs spend the Winter hidden under plant debris, then, after emerging in the Spring, females will lay their eggs. Eggs are laid in two-row clusters on the underside of plant leaves. When she has finished, the female will have laid about 150 eggs! The female will fiercely defend her eggs from predators.
