US-Canada connections

The US and Canada have the world's largest trading relationship, trading more than $2 billion in goods and services everyday. Canada is the US's largest trading partner. In 2013 the trade between the two countries was nearly $735 billion.


Nearly 27,000 Canadian students attended US schools in 2011 and 2012, while more than 12,000 American students went to school in Canada in 2012. The two countries work together to solve environmental and water issues on the border (great lakes). they also work together in producing clean energy.


US and Canada have been greatly working on fighting terrorism and strengthening border security. The two countries had to come to resolutions regarding issues in Afganhistan and Iraq. Canadian and US troops were both deployed in Afganhistan.
