Lenski Weekly Update
February 9th, 2024
From the Principal's Desk
We had a fun week! Our Kindergarteners had so much fun celebrating their 100th Day of School this week! It’s hard to believe that so many days of teaching and learning have already passed by!
We saw an incredible Bald Eagle during our lunch recess time on Tuesday! Adults and students all marveled at the beauty and elegance of the Bald Eagle.
Second graders from across the district visited Heritage High School to attend an outstanding high school musical performance! Everyone was singing when they returned!
Our primary students started today with a social-emotional Inside the Orchestra performance! If you have a Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grader, be sure to ask them about music and emotions!
Thanks to all of our parent volunteers who helped our students write their “love from Lenski” notes this week! It is such a special tradition that we have!
Enjoy the Super Bowl Weekend!
With Lenski Love,
Jessica
From the Office
In addition to the valentines this year, we will be having a school wide diaper and wipe drive benefiting the St. Andrew’s Market in the old East Elementary school. This market serves the local community, many of which are a part of our greater LPS family. Diapers and wipes are not something that is covered under any public program, and a great expense for families in need. Please bring items for donation to the front entrance of Lenski. There will be collection bins in the vestibule. The drive will run January 29th-February 14. Thank you so much for helping us spread the love!!!!
We are looking forward to our auction night on March 1st. You can register here! Thank you to our amazing PTO and generous sponsors!
School Age Child Care
Dear SACC Families,
As you begin planning for SACC needs for this summer and next school year, I want to share
the following information regarding tuition. The last time LPS SACC tuition was increased was in
the summer of 2021. Over the last few years, expenses have increased considerably. All LPS
SACC programs are committed to continuing to provide high quality, affordable care. Our
programs will have a fee increase to meet the rising costs due to salaries and benefits, snacks,
student supplies, field trip/transportation fees, and required staff training. LPS SACC programs
are not subsidized by district, state or federal funds. SACC programs must cover all operating
costs through tuition and fees.
LPS SACC PROGRAM FEE SCHEDULE BEGINNING SUMMER 2024
● Before/After School Enrollment Fee $50.00 per child (no change)
● Before School Child Care (opens at 6:30 a.m.) - $8.00 (no change)
● After School Child Care (after school till 6:00 p.m.) - $24.00
● Non-student day (6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.) - $51.00
● Summer Enrollment Fee - $50.00 per child (no change)
● Summer (6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.) - $51.00
Families sometimes inquire about assistance for School Age Child Care. There are no state or
district funds to support SACC fees, and all SACC programs are self supported by student fees.
LPS SACC programs do accept Child Care Assistance Program or CCAP. CCAP helps eligible
families with the cost of childcare for children from birth to age 12. CCAP is not overseen by
LPS. Parents interested in learning more about CCAP can find information at
https://www.arapahoegov.com/420/Child-Care-Assistance.
Summer 2024 Registration will be open on March 1, 2024! Please watch your email for
information in February!
Sincerely,
Paula Card
