Spring is in Full Swing!

Cucumber plants waiting for the garden
We have been hard at work, planting, weeding, watering, and building, to be ready for CSA pick up and markets. Herbs and veggies are growing and our berry bushes are getting bigger. Thanks to Don Fisher (who laid the plastic and irrigation) and John Biastro (who loaned us the plastic laying machine), our back fields are ship-shape and full of tomatoes and peppers. Today we even found some delicious strawberries to pick. After a very long winter, spring has most definitely sprung here at GG!

Welcome To Our Summer Interns!

At the same time that the plants begin to grow, our staff does too! This is our busy season, which means we need plenty of help. Each year we hire a crew of energetic young folks who are willing and able to do it all. They spend their time planting, watering, harvesting, weeding (lots and lots of weeding!), working markets, helping our clients, cooking...the list goes on! These young people keep goodness growing right into the fall and we are so lucky to have them. This year we welcome back Trevor, who has been with us for a number of summers now. We also welcome Kelly and Darius, for their first summers here. We are thrilled to include all of them in our Goodness Grows family!

Thank You to Crestview & Transition!

Another spring session with our classes has come to a close. These students and staff members worked hard. They helped make our spring plant sale a success, built and set up raised beds, planted, weeded, watered, cleaned, made jam, and so much more. We are beyond grateful for their help, energy, and enthusiasm. Now we are looking forward to their return in the fall!

7th Annual RiverFest

This Saturday from 11 - 4

You are invited to visit us at the B&O Station in Youngstown, for one of our favorite events of the year! We will be there with Jungle Jam and hanging baskets. Come enjoy this beautiful location, celebrate the Mahoning River, check out over 20 exhibitors, listen to live music, and take a free canoe or kayak ride. This event is fun for the whole family and a great reason to take a drive to Youngstown!

Heroes & Halos Safety Day

This Saturday from 10 - 2 at Columbiana High School.

Goodness Grows is so excited to be a part of this amazing day - Heroes and Halos 7th Annual Safety Day and Interactive Health Fair! Come see safety services, health fair vendors, a petting zoo, food vendors, games, prizes, a giving tree, and more! This is a fun event for the whole community, and all are welcome. We hope to see you there!
