THE SCOOP
A Newsflash from Mrs. Duits
Hello
We have been away from school for one week and we are missing our students terribly. It has been amazing to observe our community and district come together during this unprecedented virus contamination. Many of you are probably trying to process the cancellation of school and the absence of our normal school routine. I am certain you are also trying to figure out how to teach your child some academic content. Please do not think you need to spend hours each day engaging your children in academics. Remember to take one day at a time. A typical day would include: time to play outdoors, getting a good night of sleep and doing some of the suggested activities your child’s teacher has shared. Just a reminder… that we are all in this together and will get through this crisis and move on to the future one day. Please reach out to us if there is anything you need or there is something we can help you with.
Our district created a webpage dedicated to all things COVID-19. Please bookmark this page for all of the latest information: https://www.lakewoodps.org/Domain/481.
Academic Activities for our Students
Here are some suggested activities for our students to do at home:
- www.ixl.xom - This is a math and reading resource tied to our kindergarten common core standards.
- www.kidsa-z.com - Raz-Kids- This app provides an abundance of books at your child’s level of reading. Students will listen to the story, read and take a comprehension quiz for each book. Every student may use the following username: cbazner0 and password: montana03 to log into Raz-Kids.
