Principal's Newsletter
09/24/2021
Greetings,
I hope this finds you well. We had another productive week for all of our students this week! Also, Warriors are all beginning to find their groove for school again.
September is a month of setting expectations and getting into routines. This week and throughout the year, our administrative team visits classrooms to see the learning, quality instruction, and relationships being developed. Getting through a 5 day week after not having in-person learning for a while takes time, but we are up for the challenge to assist.
With that being said, please know your student may feel anxious about the workload, the pace of learning, or even possible final exams. We have staff here who can help!! Here are some options for your scholar to consider:
- Start with the respective teacher and share the concern.
- Spend time organizing and planning for the day, week...to establish a routine.
- Ask a counselor/assistant principal in the building about our NHS tutoring program (available during the school day!)
- Connect with your assistant principal and/or their counselor.
- Introduce yourself/student to one of our social workers.
Sometimes it only takes a little bit of extra effort to get on track and settled. We are here all year, let us do what we do best...connect with students so they learn and grow in a safe environment.
Better for Warriors,
Paul Benz

A Message from the Nurse's Office
Attention parents: Fever, Loss of Smell and Loss of Taste are highly suggestive of COVID-19. The Department of Health (DOH) refers to these symptoms as "The Big 3" as there is an increased likelihood that an individual with one or more of these symptoms will test positive for COVID-19. If your child develops a fever, loss of taste or loss of smell, keep your child home and contact your child’s healthcare provider immediately to schedule an evaluation and COVID-19 testing with a PCR test. Please also notify your school nurse so she may provide you with additional information.
The delta variant is extremely contagious and we are seeing COVID-19 spread throughout entire households, even when individuals are vaccinated. If your child experiences any symptoms associated with COVID-19 (Fever, Loss of Smell, Loss of Taste, Shortness of Breath, Cough, Sore Throat, Fatigue, Nasal Congestion/Runny Nose, Nausea, Vomiting or Diarrhea, Headaches, Muscle or Body Aches) which are new, worsening or unusual for them, your child needs to stay home from school, be evaluated by a healthcare provider and be tested for COVID-19 per DOH guidelines before returning to school.
Symptom-free siblings of symptomatic students are encouraged to continue to attend school unless the ill individual tests positive or develops fever, loss of smell or loss of taste. If you have a household member who is experiencing one or more of “The Big 3” symptoms, please consider keeping unvaccinated children home from school until the COVID-19 test result comes back, even if the children are not experiencing symptoms.
