Charter Renewal Visit with the DOE on OCTOBER 25
Public charter schools are granted a "charter" for a term of five years. The school's "charter" outlines the mission statement, educational program, student achievement goals and objectives, methods of assessment and measures of success. Charter schools are held accountable for meeting academic, financial, organizational and programmatic goals and objectives as outlined in its charter.
We are in our Charter Renewal year. It is an opportunity to let the state know that we are doing it right. We get to share how we are meeting our goals, how the goals may have changed and our commitment to our students, our families and the community.
I submitted our DRAFT to the DOE yesterday and now we need to prepare for the school visit on October 11. If you want to represent in the parent focus group, please reach out to me by Monday 9/25. I have 8 spots open for families. If I have more interest than spots I will pull names randomly. I will then, reach out with the logistics.
