Counseling Office Update
One person who works in the Counseling Office is the School Counselor, Ms. Bentley. It's Ms. Bentley's job to address any social, emotional, or behavioral issues that are keeping a student from learning. She visits each classroom with lessons about Social Emotional Learning; she hosts small group meetings in her office during lunch; and she meets with individual students who might need extra support making good choices or handling their feelings.
Another important person who works in the Counseling Office is Ms. Hornberger, the School Social Worker. Ms. Hornberger also works with students who may need extra support making good choices or handling their feelings. Additionally, Ms. Hornberger works with families who need community resources.
Finally, the School-Based Therapist Ms. Cox works in the Counseling Office. Ms. Cox works with students who have more serious emotional/behavioral concerns, such as symptoms of anxiety or depression, or difficulty coping with family stress.
These are just a few of the people working in our office. Let us know how we can help your student. We're here for you!
