Teaching Experience and Strategies
I have been teaching for 27 years. I have taught grades K-8 in the public school systems of Tennessee and Florida. I have taught ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Keyboarding, Computer Literacy, Computer Science, and Broadcasting. I am currently teaching K-8 Computer Literacy, Keyboarding, Computer Science, and Broadcasting at Thurman Francis Arts Academy. I use blended learning and other instructional technology strategies and tools to teach Tennessee's State Computer Science Curriculum Standards. Technology is always changing; I too will evolve my teaching practices as new research, technology, digital tools, and new resources come available.
Middle Tennessee State University Teaching Experience:
I have taught part-time for Middle Tennessee State University in the Elementary and Special Education Department. I taught classroom management courses and courses that help teachers integrate technology into their teaching practices.
Degrees:
I earned my undergraduate degree at Tennessee Technological University in Elementary Education Grades K-8, my Master's and Specialist's degrees in Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Education at Middle Tennessee State University, and my Doctorate degree in Instructional Technology, Distance Learning, and Elementary Education at the University of West Florida.
