Example of Excellence
Washington teachers Kimberly Merz and Katrina Parkhill presented a video sharing the students' work and experiences using iPads. President Desecki commented that they appreciate being able to see all that the students are dong with the iPads.
The LMS Cross Country team was honored for their hard work and dedication by Coaches Mr. Tucker and Officer Henn. The team had a great season, with 2 first place team medals, 1 second place medal, and several individual medals for the LMS runners.
Board Business
Secretary Ewanio shared the following:
- Follow the Schiller Park School District 81 Facebook page to see what the students are doing in school.
- Lincoln Leaders did a great job volunteering at the Project HeartWell 5K race.
- The November BOE meeting will be changed to 11/11/15 at Lincoln Middle School.
- Update on IASB 2015 Delegate Meeting - Report to the Membership
- Update on Ed-Red Fall Kick Off: Discussed state funding issues & Senator Jason Barickman presented the Evidence Based Adequacy Model
- Next Ed-Red Meeting - Friday, Nov. 6 from 1:30-3:00 - CPS's Impact on Suburban Districts (Joint Meeting of Ed-Red and Northwest Suburban School Business Officials)
Old Business Information
- Dr. Boryszewski read a letter from a former SD81 graduate written to LMS Math teacher, Ms. Pat Trafton. The student shared her school and career path, and praised her experience at Lincoln Middle School.
- The Facility committee met with DLA Architects. The committee reviewed the facility surveys conducted for each of the 3 schools. It was recommended to begin with fixing the lighting of both gyms and intercom systems at Washington and Kennedy. The work will begin over Thanksgiving break and finish over winter break.
- Policy Review Committee: Member Flanagan had given his summary regarding which policies were reviewed and which pertained to SD81.

- Adoption of Resolution 16-03 Authorizing Tax Exempt Lease Financing/Purchasing Agreement
