Day of Play - Friday the 15th
Day of PLAY just got more interesting! We decided we really want you to get excited about the PLAY part of this day and we want to SEE it! We would love to see a video or picture of you and your family playing the game ideas that were sent in below or we would love to see your family just being creative in your own playful way. We want this day to be about finding ways to get active and have fun! I (Coach Reynolds) have attached a SUPER SILLY video of us being really active in my house a few weeks ago (notice the LPS shirts and field day sweat bands, we’ve got spirit, yes we do!!) We laughed so hard making this video and really just had so much fun together!

Everyone gets a field day sweat band just for playing and being active on this day!
If you post a photo or video to the LPS Facebook page of your family playing one of the games below or just having fun and being creative with your active play together on Friday, May 15th your name will be put into a drawing for one of 36 prizes (see below). If you don’t like to post things, you can simply email your photos/videos to myself and Mrs. Creamer.
So on May 15th, post your Day of Play pictures and videos on the school's Facebook page...

Or if you are emailing, send to: sreynolds@lpsfrisco.com and mcreamer@lpsfrisco.com
In addition, many people are looking for ways to give back to the community in this difficult time, so if you would like to coordinate your day of play into a day of giving too, the information needed is below.
Leadership Prep School is partnering with the Children’s Miracle Network Foundation by participating in their “Extra Life” program. Families can share the news about its good works and help raise money for our local Children’s Hospital by creating an online fundraising platform and asking family and friends to make a donation and/or sponsor you during our Day of Play. The primary goal is to get the word out about their amazing organization; the secondary goal would be to raise some money to help them continue serving sick children.
Register to receive your fundraising page using the team link below for your grade level! (Note: it defaults to a goal of $100, but you are next expected to hit that target)
Kate will show you how to register here...

Kids Heart Challenge - message from the American Heart Association
The Kids Heart Challenge rewards are delayed, but we (LPS) will get them to you as soon as we can once they get them to us!!
First, and most importantly, thank you for championing the mission of the American Heart Association and coming to us with your feedback. We share in your disappointment for the many things our loved ones are missing out on or having to wait for due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We couldn’t have imagined a situation where we were writing a letter like this. Like you, we’re doing the best we can and looking forward to better times ahead.
No one wants to thank those at the heart of the Kids Heart Challenge more than us. Our gratitude for these heroes is off the charts. It’s because of people like them that the American Heart Association has swiftly responded to the urgent need for heart and stroke research on COVID-19, guidelines for our frontline workers, and trust-worthy health information.
More than a million children participate in the American Heart Association’s school-based programs. To individually ship the thank you gifts to each household would be an incredible cost and redirect mission funding at this critical time. As we learn more about COVID-19 and how it unfairly impacts people with underlying conditions including congenital heart defects, we know that our work – and your support of it – are perhaps more important than ever before.
Like other nonprofits experience a steep decline in donations due to cancelled events and the economic challenges our country is facing, the American Heart Association is making difficult budgeting decisions while remaining 100% focused on moving our lifesaving mission forward. We are especially grateful for your patience and understanding for the delayed shipping of Kids Heart Challenge thank you gifts. We hope you and your student feel a sense of pride that by waiting a bit longer for thank you gifts, they’re helping even more people.
We are eager to resume normal operations and get those thank you gifts in route to schools for distribution. The moment we are cleared by health experts to mobilize, we will provide an update to your school coordinator.
Once again, thank you for understanding and your commitment to helping hearts and saving lives.

Chromebook Issues or Request?
- student name
- Chrome Book Cart and device number, AKA Secondary Cart 6-2.19 (which is on a sticker on the back of the checked out Chromebook)
- what the issue is with the device, and
- what type of charger the it has (USB-C, ASUS, or HP BlueTip).
The teacher can then request that a new Chromebook is available for check out. Chromebook pick up will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00-12:00 weekly at the SECONDARY CAMPUS OFFICE. It will only be available once the request is put in by the teacher. Please do not just show up to campus.
Ascender - Parent Portal
A letter explaining how to log in to our new parent portal called ASCENDER was mailed out in the 4th nine weeks progress reports. In this system, you can check the data you have on file with LPS including addresses, vaccinations, etc.; and where you can check on attendance and grades (grades for 2-4 only).
If you have already created a parent portal account with us, then you should just have to use the new link but your username and password will be the same.
If you have never created a parent portal account with us, then please go to the link and create an account. Then you will use the portal ID from the letter to link your student to that account. Note: each student has a unique portal ID in their letter.
