Remote Learning January 19-January 29, 2021
The plan for now is for remote learning to take place Jan 19-Jan. 29, and we will return to school Feb. 1, 2021.
Only in-season athletics and activities are meeting for practice and rehearsals. Check with your coach, teacher, or director to see if you report to after school activities.
If you have questions about classes and how to join classes via video, please log into Schoology to check your course and if you still can't find a link to join, email your teachers so they know you are trying.
Attendance/Skipping: During remote learning, attendance is tracked at the beginning of the school day as well as every bell during the day! It is very important for students to arrive to classes on time in order to be counted as present for the day and each class! Students can be reported as skipping if they do not show up to class. We will email the student and parent when students skip 3 or more classes during the week so you are aware. Our goal is to keep students engaged and participating for remote learning during live classes so they do not have gaps in their learning this year!
Classes: All classes will have live video links to join the teacher. If you have questions about classes and how to join classes via video, please log into Schoology to check your course and if you still can't find a link to join, email your teachers so they know you are trying.
Dress Code: This is a reminder to get dressed before you log on to live video calls. No one should be appearing on camera without a shirt and pants on. Students should get up and prepare themselves and their workspace for the day so they will be most productive in classes.
Study Hall: you do NOT need to sign into study hall unless it is bell 1 or 2. These are your attendance bells on Red and White days and how you are counted as attending or absent. Email your study hall teacher if you are not able to find a link to sign into in Schoology.
Advisory: All freshmen should check your Team Schoology GROUP every Advisory time to get information and announcements as well as schedule time get help from your team of teachers. Teachers are available every advisory if you need to set up a video call with them for assistance on your work!
Here are the information slides about Remote Learning we shared with you earlier this year!
Check Schoology courses and email your teacher if you need help signing into your classes and be prepared to be on video lessons for each class. Find a place in your house where you can stay focused and continue having a good experience with remote learning! Below is the daily schedule so you can be on time to classes! Have a great week! Technology Support/Chromebook Information
Grades 9-12 In Person Learner:
If the student is having an issue with their school purchased device that is still under warranty, and is part of "in person" learning, they need to go to the Media Center and talk to Mrs. Chandler. She will trouble shoot to resolve the issue and, if unsuccessful, will provide a loaner device while the student device is sent for repair . If the student is renting/borrowing a device from the school (likely 11th or 12th grader), a different device will be provided.
Grade 9-12 - Eagle Online Learner:
If the student is having an issue with their school purchased device that is still under warranty, and is part of "Eagle Online" learning, they need to contact Mrs. Chandler via email or phone. She will trouble shoot to try to resolve the issue and, if unsuccessful, will prepare a loaner device for a parent/student to pick up from the front office. When the parent/student arrives to pick up the loaner device, they will leave the damaged device to be sent for repair.

DELAY & CLOSING INFORMATION
In the event there is inclement weather, Milford Schools either delays for two hours or closes. If there is a two-hour delay, each school building will begin two hours later than the normal starting time. Buses will pick up two hours later than the normal pick up time. Eagle Online will be delayed two hours as well. All Extended Day locations will open at 8:00 a.m. New this year: morning Kindergarten and morning Preschool will be cancelled if there is a two hour delay. Afternoon Kindergarten and afternoon Preschool will begin at the normal time.
If school is closed, students and staff will not come to school. Eagle Online will be closed as well. Extended Day will be open at the Preschool location only at 8:00 a.m. Since we do not have any extra calamity days available to use this year, when school is closed students will be assigned practice or review work to complete at home. Teachers will not provide live instruction but will be available by email during normal school day hours.
More information about calamity delays and cancellations can be found on our website: https://www.milfordschools.org/services-and-programs/delays-%2B-closings-19
SUBSTITUTE TEACHING ... WE COULD USE YOUR HELP!
Free Meals Extended to the End of the School Year
Last month we announced that the Ohio Department of Education, under the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food, and Nutrition Services, notified the district that ALL Milford students district-wide are eligible for free breakfast and lunch through the end of this calendar year. We are happy to announce today that the benefit has been extended to the end of the school year.
That means that 100 percent of students attending Milford Schools (both In-Person and Eagle Online) are eligible for free breakfast and lunch through the end of the school year. Students will not be charged for meals they purchase at school. Eagle Online students who receive to-go meals will not be charged either. If parents have not already registered to pick up meals for Eagle Online students, please call (513) 576-2290 or (513) 576-4160 to order meals and obtain information about pick up. Packages of frozen meals for seven days are available for pickup.
What’s more, we are now able to offer free meals to any child under the age of 18 who resides in any district. Parents need to register first by calling: (513) 576-2290 or (513) 576-4160 to order meals and obtain information about pick up. Packages of frozen meals for seven days are available for pickup.
ONLINE COVID REPORTING DASHBOARD
An order from the Ohio Governor's Office mandates required reporting of students testing positive for COVID. If your child is ill and they are exhibiting the symptoms of COVID, parents must report their child’s symptoms to us either by calling our hotline (513) 576-4150 or filling out a secure form. If your child receives a positive COVID-19 test, you must report the results to us.
Click here to access the form. After reporting by phone or through the form, parents will receive a follow up phone call from the district within 24 hours.
The district is required to report the information to our local health department, and also report the positive COVID-19 case to parents. When we know of a confirmed positive COVID-19 case, we will send an email to all parents who have a student in that building. Additional communication will go to parents who have a student in the same classroom or ride the same bus. Additionally, we will update the Dashboard graphic on our website.
Parents of students who may have been exposed to the confirmed positive COVID-19 case will receive a telephone call from the District and/or the Clermont County Health Department with instructions on how to quarantine. Students who are considered to be in close contact with a positive COVID-19 case are required to quarantine for at least 14 days. In order to return to school, a student who has a positive COVID-19 test result must have written clearance of release of quarantine by Clermont County Public Health.
If you hear of a case and you were not contacted by phone then you can safely assume the case was not in your child’s school or on your child’s bus and your child does not need to quarantine.
Each time there is a positive COVID-19 test we will not send an email district wide. Only parents who have children in the buildings where the positive COVID-19 case was reported will receive communication from us. We may or may not issue a press release or post on social media. However, updated information will be available on our website page.
