Honoring Veterans
On Friday, November 10th, CCI students and staff members will be honoring our Veterans with a morning program. We would like to display flags that honor Veteran family and friends. These will be located along the drive from the highway to the school building and will each have a personalized tag. If you would like to have a flag dedicated in honor of a favorite Veteran, please complete the attached form by Wednesday, November 8th. Thank you!

Helping your Child With Anxiety
Supporting children dealing with anxiety can be challenging, but there are strategies that parents can implement to help their child. Here are some tips:
Open Communication: Encourage open discussions about feelings and anxiety. Let your child know it's okay to talk about what they're experiencing without fear of judgment.
Create a Safe Environment: Foster a safe and supportive environment at home. Ensure your child feels secure and understood, offering reassurance and comfort.
Establish Routine: Structure and predictability can provide a sense of security. Establish consistent daily routines for meals, homework, bedtime, etc.
Teach Coping Strategies: Help your child learn and practice coping techniques such as deep breathing, mindfulness, visualization, or progressive muscle relaxation to manage anxiety.
Encourage Healthy Habits: A balanced diet, regular exercise, and sufficient sleep play a crucial role in managing anxiety. Encourage these habits to support your child's overall well-being.
Avoid Avoidance: While it's important to support your child, avoiding anxiety-provoking situations might reinforce their fears. Encourage gradual exposure to these situations to build resilience.
Model Healthy Coping: Children often learn by observing. Show healthy ways to manage stress and anxiety in your own life.
Celebrate Success: Acknowledge and celebrate your child's achievements, no matter how small. This can build confidence and reduce anxiety.
Seek Professional Help: If anxiety significantly affects your child's daily life, consider seeking help from a mental health professional, such as a therapist or counselor, who specializes in working with children dealing with anxiety.
