From our PTC

We are very thankful for the amazing families and community we have at Cam Heights! In one and a half week we raised a little under $30k that will fund our Lions music classes, instruments and more! Our Fun Run was very successful and we saw that in every student’s faces. Big smiles, laughs and dance moves while they completed their laps. Thanks everyone who helped in this fundraiser, giving your time and energy to our school. Most important, thank you families for all your generous donations!!

Our November PTC meeting is this Tuesday, 11/15, at 8:30am in the MPR. All members are welcome to join. The agenda will be sent tomorrow via email. Please come bring your suggestions and/or concerns. We'll be happy to discuss them!

ALL BELONG @ Camarillo Heights STEM Academy- Empathy

Our school is a welcoming place where every student feels like he or she belongs!

This week we talked about Empathy, feeling or understanding how someone else is feeling.

In our morning announcements, I will be reminding students to welcome others and act and speak in safe, respectful, and responsible ways.

Also, our teachers and counselor are teaching the Second Step program, our Social-Emotional Learning curriculum, which includes lessons that support these behaviors. This includes every classroom participating in weekly Community Circles where our scholars communicate and build a strong classroom community and safe space to express their feelings in a positive and productive manner.

Support your child at home in welcoming others and acting and speaking in safe, respectful, and responsible ways.

Thank you in advance for reporting all absences to our office. (805)383-5305

All Absences Must Be Reported

Every absence must be reported to our office, illness-related or otherwise, to determine readmittance to the classroom the day of your child’s return. If you do not report their absence to our office, they are sent to the health office until we can clear the reason for absence with you. This is not a productive use of time in your child's school day, with instructional minutes being missed.

When reporting an absence, include; First and last name of your child, the reason for absence, date(s) of absence, teacher, and grade level.

We want to keep our scholars in school, and to do this; we must all do our part to keep our school community healthy.

We love having our scholars at school, and they love being here!

Thank you in advance for reporting all absences to our office. (805)383-5305
