Laura Donovan Digital Day

What is it?
Digital Day is a day for Freehold Township Schools to share with the outside world how you use technology in your classroom. Through the use of Twitter, tweets will be sent to #FTSDIGITALDAY with a brief description of any technology tool, project, website, program, etc. that you are using in the classroom. More information about National Digital Learning Day can be found here.
How Will It All Work?
As mentioned in Dr. Kasun's email, Twitter is now open for staff members at school. You are now able to create a Twitter account using your school gmail information and use the Twitter account for school use. On Digital Day you are invited to tweet to our hashtag and share how you infuse technology into your classroom. If you do not want to sign up for an account or tweet, Jenn, Cathleen, or Monica can tweet about what you and your students are doing in the classroom. Each tweet will me monitored before it is posted, so no need to worry about inappropriate tweets going live on our feed. A digital wall will be displayed at LDS of all tweets throughout the district so we can see the comments of our colleagues across all seven schools.
How Can I Learn About Twitter and Sign Up For An Account?
There is a Twitter PD offering on Friday, January 24th at 8:00 in the LDS Library. This PD opportunity counts toward your 3 hours needed for the early release day in May. During this PD, we will go over the basics of Twitter, how to use it as an educator, and how to set up an account. You can also read more information about Digital Day and the District Acceptable Use Policy on our Digital Day Website. If you can't make the PD session, contact Monica to set up a time that works for both of you!
