Go Cocoa for Books!
Happy New Year! We have made it to 2022. It is National Whipped Cream Day on January 5th and National Bittersweet Chocolate Day on January 10th. I should also note a very important holiday during this month and that happens to be Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This holiday is on January 17th. We celebrate his birthday on January 15th and recognize the contributions he has made for civil rights in the United States of America. Every third Monday of January, we reflect upon the work that he has done for racial equality and see how we can make changes ourselves.
MLK Day
Stevie Wonder released the song, "Happy Birthday" in 1980 to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's birthday. On November 2, 1983, the bill for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day was signed by President Ronald Reagan. It was observed for the first time in 1986. In the year 2000, ALL 50 states finally recognized MLK Day as a national holiday.
