KCTC Open House
KCTC is hosting its annual open house on Wednesday, Feb. 7 and 8 from 5-7 p.m.! See what KCTC is all about. Check out the programs, visit the labs, and talk to current students and staff.
KCTC has everything from Automotive and Aviation to Graphic Communications and Digital Animation, Agriscience and Hospitality (sometimes farm-to-table), and more. KCTC students earn high school credit, college credit, and professional certifications, and often all three!
Time is limited, so we advise students to visit the KCTC website to see our list of programs decide which they're most interested in, and visit those first! Then, grab stellar treats (made by the Hospitality students) and tour some other areas.
The Talk & Tour Series
The Talk & Tour Series is a career exploration program for students in 7th-12th grade, designed to increase awareness of diverse careers available in high-demand career sectors.
Through an informal "talk show style" format, a panel of professionals in select industries will share their career paths, the inside scoop on what their jobs are really like, along their perspective on what you can do to prepare for a career that interests you. This is your chance to ask questions, get valuable career information, and take an action step in figuring out your career direction. A tour of the host site will be provided, with a special focus on seeing the latest technology and innovation happening in the workplace. A variety of industries and occupations will be highlighted.
Virtual Career Exploration Series
Kent ISD’s Career Chats are designed to provide 7-12-grade students a virtual opportunity to meet real professionals employed in real jobs. This series of 30-40 minute sessions will highlight professions in a variety of career pathways, allowing students to learn more about a career of interest, or to explore new options.
Professionals will share their career paths, along with valuable industry insights that support student career exploration. Students will have an opportunity to ask their questions through the platform’s chat function.
