Library Database Passwords
We have lots of print...and e-books, too!
The Fort Ann School Library Media Center has many, many books for all ages. Over a thousand titles are available as e-books, which can often be opened or downloaded on just about any device. Go to library --> catalogs and click on the cardinal to get to our catalog.
You can search by title, subject, author...or you can search for "e-books" as well. Overdrive books require a username and password. Other e-books usually only require the school username and password.

PebbleGo can be found by going to library -->databases. Scroll down till you find PebbleGo. It will then prompt you for a username and password.
Most of our other databases are available on our catalog page. Click on the cardinal, click on the "VRC Database Collection" link for your child's age group, and look at the many choices available. You will be prompted for a username and password once you select your first database. There are databases in there for all different age/grade levels; chances are, your child will be able to name at least a few that he/she has used at school, such as InfoBits, CultureGrams, Amazing Animals, or eLibrary Elementary.

Often, teachers will ask the library to create a specific landing point for online resources they are using in class. We use the Portaportal to keep those links handy and easy to find. Students use the Portaportal for research on biomes, penguins, biographies, natural disasters, and much more. Students can also create their own portaportals at home if they wish to put all of their favorite links in one place!
