Eternal rest grant unto her , O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace. ~Amen~

Advent
Advent has begun; the beginning of our four-week preparation for Christmas in our Church calendar.
Advent is a time of waiting and watching. The word Advent literally means “coming”. We wait for God’s coming into our midst now, just as the world waited so many years ago. Advent is a time to prepare ourselves for the birth of Jesus through prayer, reflection, and action. During our Advent journey, we think about the many ways God comes to be with us. It is a time of preparation and we try to make ourselves more ready to receive God in our day-to-day lives
COVID
In light of the recent increase in cases throughout New Zealand, we are closely monitoring case number trends in our community. We currently have between 5 - 10 students/staff self-isolating with COVID.
- a reminder to stay at home if unwell
- consider wearing a mask
- get booster vaccine doses, if eligible
- let the school know if your child test positive for COVID - 19
If cases appear in your child's class you will be advised by email.
Christmas Carnival - 9 December 4 - 6.30pm
This is an opportunity for us to gather together as a community to celebrate our tamariki, make connections and prepare for Advent.
We strongly encourage all our tamariki and whanau members to be present.

Prizegiving - Tuesday 13 December

ENROLMENTS
We welcome enrolments for 2023. If you have a child or know of a child due to start school in 2023 please ensure they are enrolled. It is essential we know who is wanting to join our school whanau and when.
Enrolment packs are available from the school office or can be downloaded from the school website. https://sjs.school.nz/enrolment-2/

Lunches
These lunches align with national food and nutrition guidelines, so your child is getting a good healthy FREE lunch every day.
Please only provide your child with a healthy morning tea (a piece of fruit).
We are very concerned with the amount of food wastage and unhealthy food being sent in school lunch boxes.
