Grade Level Spotlight
Basic Skills:
In grades 1-3, students are having fun using our new multisensory tools to practice blending and spelling. Not only are the tools making class more fun, we’re finding lots of success with them! Students in grades 4-5 are using their decoding and encoding skills to break down words into syllables to read and spell with accuracy. The students are having fun challenging themselves with larger and more complex words. Then, the students are practicing the same skills with a story to read. Everyone in basic skills is engaged and trying their best! I love seeing their confidence grow each time we meet!
The Title I reading students continue to work hard. We are working on retelling stories and being sure to discuss all key details. Also, we are working hard to communicate our ideas in writing making sure to print neatly, accurately, with correct capitalization, punctuation, and spacing between words.
Save the Date: February 7th at 6:00pm is our Family Fun Night! We will hear a story, complete a painting, and have dinner together. Please look for the flyer that went home this week and return it to me, Mrs. Mauro, so I know who will be attending! I look forward to seeing you there!
