Monday Morning Bearcub Brief

Volume XCIII--4 March 2019

"Every CUB stepping up, reaching out, moving forward!"

Kleb Kudos

Hey Bearcub family, welcome to March and the week before Spring Break! I don't know about you, but I'm definitely looking forward to a little rest and relaxation with my family next week...but I know that by the time the week is over I will truly miss our kids and be ready to jump in and get started on the final stretch of the year. Before we jump ahead, let's take a look back at some great things happening in our Kleb village last week:

This week's first kudos goes out to the students and staff from Klein High and Kleb Intermediate who collaborated and presented a show to celebrate Black History Month on campus. The show provided an awesome mentoring opportunity for the Delta Kappa Elite to build positive and productive relationships with our students on campus while celebrating diversity. Thank you to everyone that participated and worked on the program!
For our second kudos, I want to take a moment to say thank you to Klein's Maintenance department. On Friday morning, Kleb's staff hosted a Thank You Breakfast to show them just how much we appreciate all they do on campus. Our maintenance department works hard everyday to help us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our Bearcubs and we are so grateful for everything. From our whole Bearcub family, thank you once again and a special thank you to HEB and Lowe's for helping us sponsor the event.
My third kudos of the week goes to our Math teams, who have been doing a great job of utilizing pre-assessments and creating playlists for their students. Thank you teams for supporting our kids by leveraging technology to create personalized student learning plans and pathways. Great job!

Cubs of the Week

Huggins Highlights

Teachers, here are a few upcoming items to make sure you have on your calendar. First, don't forget that this week we have our second round of passion projects! Please make sure to encourage your Den kids to check and make sure they know where they head during Den this Tuesday through Friday.

During Den the last week in March, we will be celebrating MAP growth in our first ever Academic Growth Party! Tuesday will be 6th grade, Wednesday will be 7th and Thursday will be the 8th grade party. Ms. Hodge will send out lots of details soon!

STAAR testing training is also just around the corner. Mr. Raleigh will train all teaching staff on Monday, March 25th. You will have the option to come before or after school as well as during your conference period. More details as we get closer!

Finally, don't forget that our March faculty meeting is on Wednesday, March 27th. I can't wait to get another chance to learn together!

Teacher CUB Award of the Week

Jennifer Richardson

I am nominating Jennifer Richardson for bravery because she works with me, she doesn't get flustered, she is half my brain, she is smart, amazingly creative, organized, hard working, dependable, and makes me smile. Kleb Theatre could not survive without her.

We are still taking nominations for next year’s board here: (or you can print a form from the PTO website)

If you have a little time or a skill to offer, please consider putting your name in the hat so we can create a strong, well-balanced group that represents our WHOLE school. Don’t forget to pass the interest/nomination form on to anyone who will be coming up from elementary school too. We would also like to have a contact in each of the clubs and organizations here to make sure we are as connected as possible to the needs and activities of our kiddos.
