White Flight
White Flight has a direct impact on poor and nonwhites. Cities lost people and buisnesses and property they owned and income taxes they had to pay. City goverments could no longer afford to properly maintain or improve schools, public transportaion and police and fire departments.
Mass Media
Mass Media was a communication that reached large audiences. First widely available in 1948, television had reached 9 percent of American homes by 1950 and 55 percent of homes by 1954. In 1960, almost 90 percent which is about 45 million of American had television.
White Flight
Description:
The White Flight was during the 1960's and was lotcated in the United States.
Cause and Outcome of Even or Person:
Millions of middle class white Americans left the cities for the suburbs. And the rural poor migrated into the cities.
Importance:
This was direct to the whites and nonwhites which nearly 5 million African Americans moved from the rural South to the urban areas.
Mass Media
Cause and Outcome/Importance:
Early television sets were small boxes with black and white screen. The first regular t.v show was was broadcasting in the beginning of 1949 but reached only a small part of the East Coast and only two hours a week. It was to people all around the world.
