PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES- All Virtual via ZOOM
October 15- 3-7 PM. All classroom teachers will send you a ZOOM link to join the conference session. There will be a "waiting room" and the classroom teacher will admit you to the conference when he/she is ready to go. Please sign up for a time to meet with the teacher in the link below this message. Each conference is 15 minutes in length. There is not a report card to share at this conference, but this is a GREAT time to share how distance learning is going, answer communication questions and see how the school year is starting out for your child.
Specialists will also be available for a conference. If you would like to talk to PE, music, art, counselor links will be shared on October 12 via a special edition newsletter. You won't sign up for a time to meet with them, so you may have to wait in the ZOOM waiting room until they are done talking to another parent.
If your child sees GT, EL, special education, Title staff, please sign up for a time to meet with them on PTC Fast. A special email newsletter will be sent that has ALL teacher's ZOOM links as we get closer to the first conference date. Be on the lookout for it.

FPS Smart Restart Plan
On September 21, the Fargo Public Schools (FPS) COVID-19 Instructional Plan Committee met to decide the Instructional Level for our schools, in accordance to the FPS Smart Restart Plan. After thoughtful deliberation, the committee determined to operate Fargo Public Schools under the following levels from October 5 through October 19:
Elementary Schools: Level 3 – Hybrid Instruction
Middle Schools: Level 2 – Distance Learning
High Schools: Level 2 – Distance Learning
This decision was made based on the guiding principles outlined in the FPS Smart Restart Plan. Specific criteria used to help make this determination included, but are not limited to: guidance from the state, guidance from Fargo Cass Public Health, Cass County COVID-19 death rate, Cass County COVID-19 hospitalization rate, Cass County COVID-19 transmission rate, FPS student data of COVID-19 related absences, FPS staff leave data, FPS substitute fill rate data, considerations to the implementation of the FPS Smart Restart Plan and the recently released CDC indicators and thresholds for risk of introduction and transmission of COVID-19 in schools. When considering specific Cass County data, a 14-day rolling average of COVID-19 cases was used.
Between now and October 5, Fargo Public Schools will continue to work with Fargo Cass Public Health to determine the conditions required to provide in-person instruction for secondary students. If Fargo Public Schools is able to employ those conditions and the committee feels that the precautionary measures in place with the number of cases in our community warrants hybrid or in-person instruction, that decision will be made on October 5 for implementation on October 19.
The committee will work to provide at least a two-week notice prior to making a change in Level for Fargo Public Schools. However, due the changing data and the ability for the number of COVID-19 cases in our community to suddenly increase or decrease, sometimes a two-week notice may not be feasible. The members of the FPS COVID-19 Instructional Plan Committee are committed to meeting every two weeks, reviewing COVID-19 specific data in Cass County and making the best decision for Fargo Public Schools.
Thank you for your continued understanding as we seek to achieve Fargo Public Schools’ mission of educating and empowering all students to succeed during this pandemic. We will continue to navigate these uncharted waters together as an FPS family.
Sincerely,
Rupak Gandhi, Ph.D.
Superintendent
Title I: What you Need to Know
As a Titile I school, Eagles Elementary receives federal funds for Title I programs that are part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). As a recipient of these funds, Eagles Elementary has committed itself to providing enriching learning activities for its stakeholders and sharing responsibility with both parents and students to improve academic achievement, as outlined in the School-Parent Compact. Additionally, Eagles Elementary is required to notify parents of particular components outlined in the law. Through the Interactive Dashboard, parents are able to be notified regarding the performance measures outlined in the state’s accountability system. The Parents Right to Know document is also a valuable resource as it lays out what information parents have the right to request and ascertain from the school regarding topics like the professional qualifications of staff, state and local policy, and parental rights regarding student participation in mandated assessments.Additionally, the District School Parent and Family Engagement Policy outlines what actions FPS and the school will be taking to provide effective parent and family engagement activities to improve student achievement and school performance. Copies of each of these documents can be found below, and you are encouraged to read through them.
