FALL EDITION I OCTOBER 2022
As we get ready to start Fall Break, I’d like to thank all of our parents and guardians who took the time to meet with their children’s teachers during Parent-Teacher Conferences. As a parent of eight children, I understand the demands you have on your time and what it takes to prioritize these meetings in your busy schedules. It is so important to be an active partner with your child’s teachers. Our teachers, staff, and administrators are incredible and want to do whatever they can to help our students succeed. We are very fortunate to have families who are involved in our schools, as well as a community that provides generous support.
We are also appreciative of the support we receive from our community partners. This week, the Mayor of Greenwood announced plans for a proposal that would give Center Grove $333,000 from the American Rescue Plan to spend on safety and security. As I shared with you at the start of the school year, the safety of our students, staff, and school campuses remains a top priority for Center Grove. We have been working diligently with our School Board to add needed safety measures and mental health resources using funds as they become available through our budget process, grant opportunities, and other partnerships. We are proud of the progress we have made, but know safety is not a box that can be checked off of our list. We will continue to work on both proactive and reactive ways to improve the well-being and security of our district. Embedded in this newsletter and at this link, you can watch a video we did with our students explaining some of the safety features we have in place.
I hope you all enjoy a safe and restful Fall Break next week!
Sincerely,
Richard A. Arkanoff, Ed.D.
