Halloween day fun
Halloween activities at Baker are scheduled for Wednesday, October 31. Weather permitting, we are planning on having the traditional “downtown” Halloween Parade. The all-school parade will begin at 9:40. See your child’s classroom newsletters for specific party times and details. For the parade, children walk in costume with their teacher and parents are welcome to walk along.
Please do not send students to school in their costume or face make-up. Students will have time before the parade begins to get dressed. Costumes should be very simple. Time does not allow for elaborate dress. We also ask that costumes be age appropriate and not too “scary”. Costumes should be fun but we ask that you avoid monsters or creatures that are bloody, vicious or are associated with current events that might be frightening to young children. Students should wear comfortable shoes for the parade—please no high heels.
REMINDER—No guns, swords or weapons of any kind are permitted in school.

New Pick Up Procedure Starts November 1
In coming up with this plan for revising our pick-up process, we've considered many factors, talked with several safety agencies and listened to many suggestions. Our plan tries to takes into account 1) the ever-increasing number of parents who pick-up students, 2) the flow of traffic along Sycamore (traffic easily backs up in both directions blocking traffic and buses), 3) our building safety protocols during school hours, 4) land constraints that limit parking, 5) building security, and 6) limited parking and traffic loop space in the front of the building. We are hoping for a positive outcome as we try this new procedure. We hope by allowing parents and caregivers to secure their child by the hand instead of waiting for recognition at the double doors ... pick up will be safer and more efficient.
