HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 1 Week 4 Friday 5 March
FROM MARK
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This afternoon we welcome home our Year Six Gang, and our many staff who have supported them, back from a fabulous camp. We are delighted that they all had a great camp!
Very best wishes to all children involved - generally Years 3, 4 and 6 - who are attending mass this weekend to register for the sacramental programme. Registration takes place at all masses this weekend, so take your pick! The sacramental programme is parish-based and as such operates through our Lady of the Rosary Parish.
Social distancing continues. A reminder that that includes vacating the school grounds by 3.15pm every day. Thanks so much for your support.
Have a great weekend
Mark

PASTORAL AND STUDENT WELL-BEING NEWS
The excitement of a new school year is wearing off and little minds and bodies are getting tired. I have had some calls, emails and visits from parents and students who are feeling somewhat anxious about coming to school or displaying out of character behaviour at home. In our busy lives, it is so easy to forget to take some time out to relax and slow down. There is so much information out there but I do find HEAD & HEART MINDFULNESS to be full of sensible advice. There are some great tips for separation anxiety and keeping things calm at home here: https://www.headandheartmindfulness.com.au/blog-items/separationanxiety.
Mostly we just need reminding about how important routine, sleep and limited screen time is and how valuable family fun time can be for our sense of security and happiness.
Stay well.

LIBRARY NEWS
What a great start to the Junior Chess Tournament! Well done to all 32 participants from years 1,2 and 3 and huge thanks to our year 5 umpires for helping out while the year 6s are at camp. In library this week, our year 3 and year 4 classes had a Feelings and Friends reconnector and we practised our Mindfulness and Relaxation. You can listen to more at home here : https://www.abc.net.au/radio/programs/mindfully/series-4/10702420.
We also introduced these concepts to our new HR friends who missed the program in year 2. I have handed out a new First Aid Kit for feelings worksheet to them so they can update the one they have at home. Please continue to ask them about the concepts they have learned in year 2 so they can build on them as they grow.
Enjoy and relax!
