Does Your Reputation Matter to Jesus? - Gospel Reading - Luke 19:1-10
Zacchaeus (let's just call him Zack) was hated in his community. He got rich by stealing tax money from the Jewish people. It wouldn't have been crazy if he thought that Jesus would never give him a second look. But HE wanted to get a look at Jesus. Jesus sets Zack's reputation aside and surprises everyone!
Principal's Message
Good afternoon,
Last week we were happy to celebrate 150 students who were given a HOWLS lunch, they were nominated by staff for going above and beyond during the month of November. A huge shout out to Complete Care Restoration for supporting the lunch and for lending a hand in serving the students.
We have a very busy week coming up, with Halloween activities tomorrow followed by our ATA institute day. Staff will be attending professional development opportunities throughout the day. A reminder that there is no school for students on Tuesday.
We are also looking forward to seeing parents at Parent Teacher Interviews on Thursday night. The booking slots will be open on Monday morning at 9am.
Parents are welcome to join us for our Remembrance Day celebration on Friday at the Morinville Cultural Centre. The celebration begins at 10:30am.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Damon Clayton, Principal

MLC Youth Takeover
While we feel the world has returned to normal, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a lasting impact on us and our teens, which we are still recovering from. One of the ways adolescents' development has suffered over the course of the pandemic is their ability to empathize and relate to others (van de Groep et al., 2020). Empathy is an essential skill that helps teens take new perspectives and create stronger and healthier relationships. Check out this link from Big Life Journal, or see the graphic below on ways we can help our teens practice empathetic behaviours.

NEW ONLINE PAYMENT PORTAL INFORMATION
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we finalized the migration of our new payment portal into the PowerSchool Parent Portal. As previously mentioned, we will no longer be using School Cash Online and have switched to a new system, which can be accessed through your PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please see the details below to help you navigate to the payment portal.
Where do I find the new payment portal?
The new payment portal can easily be accessed through the PowerSchool Parent Portal using your login credentials. Once you have logged in, scroll down on the left-hand side and click on school fees and forms. Clicking on this link will then take you to the payment portal where all your fees can be found. Please note that this feature is only accessible on the desktop version of PowerSchool.
The link for the PowerSchool Parent Portal should be listed under Quick Links on each school’s website or the GSACRD division website’s landing page.
Click here to access the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
Can partial payments be made in the new payment portal?
Yes, partial payments can be made within the new payment portal. Once you’ve added your items to the portal cart, click on checkout and payment options will be provided.
This also applies to transportation-related fees.
Please contact your school directly if you have paid in SchoolCash Online for this school year.
Will I receive a notification when payments are due?
No, there will not be a notice for payment unless provided by the school. Please monitor your online account for fees and forms that may be added throughout the year (i.e. field trips).
How do I log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal?
If you do not already have a login for the PowerSchool Parent Portal, your school can provide you with an access letter with the ID and password to create an account. Please contact your child's school if you have not received this letter or your access ID and password.
If you already have a login and cannot recall your username or password, please click forgot username and/or password links to proceed.
What else can I find in the PowerSchool Parent Portal?
