WHAT IS HAPPENING THIS MONTH:
During the month of November we, Kyle R. Wilson, are focusing on RESPECT! Each month the school will focus on one character trait. At the end of each month the teachers will pick two students from their classrooms that they feel have mastered that trait. The students selected will received a spirit stick! The CARING students from October will be recognized on the announcements during the last week of the month. They will be receiving their spirit stick along with a free slice of pizza from ZPIZZA.

This month Mrs. James and Ms. Orgeron are going into K-2 grade to do lessons. We have finished up 3-5 grade lessons for this nine weeks. We will be on a nine week rotation: grades 3-5, first and third nine weeks and grades K-2, second and fourth nines weeks. The days and times for when we meet with each grade are on our calendars on our webpage.
With kindergarten we will be doing four different lessons during the first nine weeks. We will be focusing on problem solving, coping skills, communication, listening, and teamwork. Our lessons will be Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns to Listen, Tucker Turtle- Turtle Time, Feelings- In My Heart, and Tattle Tongue.
With 1st grade we will be doing four different lessons during the first nine weeks. We will be focusing on responsibility, communication, building relationships, and teamwork. Our lessons will be Pay Attention Puppy, Bugs and Wishes, Be a Buddy not a Bully, and Making Friends is An Art.
With 2nd grade we will be doing four different lessons during the first nine weeks. We will be focusing on responsibility, communication, friendship and teamwork. Our lessons will be Respecting Differences- The Crayon Box That Talks, It Only Takes ONE, Feelings- In My Heart, and Enemy Pie.
Also, we will be starting small groups this month. We will be focusing on a school success group grades 3-5, a 3rd grade friendship group, and a 5th grade girls group. If your child has been selected to participate in one of our groups you should have received a permission form last month. We will be meeting about 6 times during their lunch block. The days and times for when we meet with our groups are on our calendars on our webpage.
We have also be starting a before school club for military students called Next Generation Heroes on October 21. We have sent information home in regards to this club. We will be meeting with K-2 on 10/28, 12/2, 12/16 and 3-5 on 10/21, 11/18, 12/9 before school.
Veterans Breakfast
In honor of the many veterans that are a part of our students’ lives, we are hosting a Veterans Day Breakfast. If your student has a parent, grandparent, sibling or relative that has served, or is serving in the US military, please join us on November 9, at 9:15am for a special appreciation breakfast.
