USA Postgraduate Study (IR) // Yale Jackson Institute for Global Affairs
Cristin Siebert, Director of Student Affairs Yale Jackson Institute for Global Affairs will present on The Jackson Institute’s M.A. in Global Affairs (International Relations prior to Fall 2013)
The M.A. program is small by design, with 25-30 students in each entering class. Coming with diverse backgrounds and career interests, Jackson's graduate students form an intimate and loyal community. Our size and approach create a dynamic atmosphere as students become a resource to each other and a window to the diversity and complexity of the global affairs field. Our students leave the Jackson Institute with lifelong connections to colleagues working around the world in the public, nonprofit, and private sectors in diverse fields that include policy analysis, security analysis, trade and economic development, foreign affairs, human rights, international finance, and environmental policy.

The School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University is widely considered to be one of the most prestigious graduate international affairs schools in the world. Located on Columbia's Morningside Heights campus in the Borough of Manhattan, in New York City, the school has 16,427 alumni in more than 150 countries. SIPA's alumni include former heads of state, business leaders, journalists, diplomats, and elected representatives; half of SIPA’s nearly 1,200 students are international, coming from over 100 countries. SIPA has more than 70 full-time faculty and more than 200 adjunct professors, including the world's leading scholars on international relations.
The school offers a traditional two-year Masters (Master of Public Administration or Master of International Affairs), an Executive MPA, an Environmental Science and Policy program, an Economic Policy Management program, a Development Practice degree, and a Ph.D. program in Sustainable Development.

Join Dr Angela McShane, acting Head of Postgraduate Studies of the V&A/RCA History of Design and Material Culture Research Department, to hear more about their PG programmes.
The V&A/RCA Programme is internationally recognised as the leading centre for postgraduate study in the history of design and material culture. Combining ambitious, rigorous and cutting edge scholarly approaches with first hand understanding of objects. The History of Design programme is ideally suited to prepare students for the increasingly diverse and flexible professional portfolio that is demanded today.
The MA is a two year full-time programme. It is taught by a dedicated team of academics based in the Research Department of the V&A and the Humanities School of the RCA. The Programme has an established reputation for pioneering new forms of design historical enquiry in global contexts, from the fifteenth century to the present day. The system of seminar-based classes, personal tutorials and supervisions provides a unique environment for the study of the aesthetic, social, cultural, technological, economic and political contexts of design.

Join us for a series of presentations and Q&A's around Postgraduate Study. George Drew PGDE Depute Programme Director, University of Aberdeen, will join us to discuss their Teacher Training programme in depth.
The University of Aberdeen offers an innovative PGDE programme that brings together not only primary and secondary specialists, but MA4 primary students - in order to learn together, to share common experiences, and to debate current educational issues.
The development of the programme aims to produce inclusive practitioners who will be able to face the challenges of the 21st century classroom, by adopting pedagogies that support all learners and foster collaborative working.
The PGDE programme is offered on a full-time basis over 36 weeks with 18 weeks spent on placement in schools in our partner Local Authorities, and the other 18 weeks spent on campus. It is also offered on a part-time basis, over two years, in conjunction with specific local authorities.
