HELP SECURE FUNDING FOR WANGENHEIM
This year’s LCFF form was originally sent out at the end of last school year. If you completed the LCFF in May or June of 2023, then you do not need to complete a new form.
Looking for opportunities to help your child’s school? There is no easier way than by completing the LCFF questionnaire.
This two-question form takes only minutes to complete, but has a significant impact on the amount of state funding for your school and could increase opportunities for your own child.
The LCFF questionnaire determines state funding for programs and services that benefit all students, such as grant opportunities, support staff, mental health resources, and materials. Based on responses, students and their families may also qualify for reduced fees for home internet, utilities, school photos, Advanced Placement and college placement exams, and before or after school childcare.
If you have not yet completed the LCFF questionnaire, please either sign in to the Parent Portal in PowerSchool or respond to a district email from SurveyMonkey that will be sent to parents who have not yet responded. Please contact your school’s office staff if you need assistance with the process.
There are many clubs for students to become involved in Wangenheim activities. Below is a listing of current clubs. Please reach out to the advisor listed if interested or for more information.
STAY CONNECTED WITH OPT-IN TEXT MESSAGING
San Diego Unified School District uses multiple methods of sharing important information with families throughout the school year. Make sure you don’t miss any messages by keeping your contact information updated with your school and opting in to texting.
Once the school year begins, check the PowerSchool Parent Portal to ensure your current cell phone number is on file and then text the word “YES” to 67587 to opt in to receiving text messages from San Diego Unified.
More information on the PowerSchool Parent Portal can be found here. Please note that the Parent Portal cannot be accessed until the start of the school year. More information on SchoolMessenger – the system used to send emails, phone calls and text messages to families – can be found here.

East Coast trip for 8th grade students for next year. On this trip we take participants to Boston, NYC, and Washington DC. We travel by plane and by luxury bus. We stay in very nice hotels and eat at fantastic restaurants. We see and do everything we can possibly fit into this week. There is one teacher chaperone for every 10-12 students and nighttime security guards hired for each floor of the hotels where there are students. This is an all inclusive trip, so once you pay for it, you don't need money for anything else except souvenirs. This is a trip of a lifetime- don't miss out!
Signups are first come first serve and we can take 50 kids before we have to start a waitlist. If you know you want to sign up and don't need the information meeting to do so, please email Ms. Chambless for the link! If you have questions, contact Ms. Chambless (Rm 903) firstname.lastname@example.org or Ms. Coppola (Rm 950) email@example.com
