Instructional Happenings
Great things are happening at the Primary! Prekindergarteners are learning letters and sounds, numbers, counting AND taking home library books. Our kinder kids are blending sounds to make and read words, responding to reading, and counting to ten. First grade students are learning about life cycles, addition and subtraction. Second graders are counting money, reading independently, and writing about their reading. Teachers in all grade levels are meeting the needs of their students by working in engaging, differentiated small groups, guided reading and math groups. Ms. Cheek's class has been using the scientific method to conduct various experiments, such as making bread, butter, jam, and sandwiches! It's a great day to be a Primary Panther!
Onsite Professional Development
I want to thank those that joined me in watching the webinar The Power and Purpose of Text Levels. The link is below for anyone that is interested. I enjoyed the positive learning conversation and the willingness to discuss and explore new ideas! What are some other onsite professional development opportunities that you would like provided?
