We Have Missed You

We hope our students are relaxed, recharged, and ready to begin the 2020-21 school year! Due to COVID-19, our counseling operations will look a bit different this year. First and foremost, the SHS Counseling Department thanks you for your patience and cooperation as we navigate these unprecedented times. Our skilled and devoted SHS counselors are already planning and preparing for your students, as there will be opportunities for students to participate in various small groups, college visits, military recruitment sessions, and core lessons to learn graduation requirements and develop a plan post-high school graduation (all virtual, of course). We are confident that the year ahead will be filled with rewarding experiences. Thank you for being a member of our Jacket Family!

New Procedure to Order Official Transcripts

When students request an official transcript, the following steps must be followed as there is a 3-step process:

  2. Log onto Sprayberry Counseling website - click HERE
  3. Review and complete the information under 'Official Transcript Requests' on the main left side of the screen (step 2)
  4. After the Google form has been successfully completed, click on the MyPaymentsPlus link to pay for the official transcript (step 3).

The cost for each official transcript is $2.00.

If students request an unofficial transcript, they must send an email to our Counseling clerk, Mrs. Nury Gonzalez, at In the email, the student must include:

  1. His or her first and last name
  2. Their student ID (lunch number)
  3. A copy of their picture ID

Opportunities For Your Student To Speak With Their Counselor

As we embark upon a new school year throughout this pandemic, the counseling department wants to ensure that our students understand they have access to their assigned counselor; in a safe, healthy manner. If your student would like to meet with their counselor, he or she may:

  1. Schedule a student appointment through Zoom or Microsoft Teams (which students will access through their Office 365 account)
  2. Send the assigned counselor an email with your questions and/or concerns

Last year, Cobb County School District adopted Naviance as our college and career platform that all students are required to use to complete all Bridge Law activities, request transcripts, search for scholarship opportunities, and search for colleges/universities.

If your student has issues logging into his/her Naviance account, he/she must send an email to their assigned counselor.

Pay close attention to the specific college and/or university deadlines under 'Admissions Requirements' on the college's website.

All students: Remember to communicate regularly with your teachers, get involved in extracurricular activities, and ensure you are effectively managing your time to create balance between academics and extracurricular activities.

It is important that your student creates their account on GaFutures and monitors his/her HOPE GPA, particularly if he/she plans to attend a college/university in Georgia.
