RHHS Wildcats News You Can Use
#WEARERH Mid-July Edition #WEARERH
News and Notes from the Principal
This past Friday, July 17, 2020 you all were communicated the upcoming changes to the school year ahead. One major point of importance is the change in start date for students on Monday, August 17, 2020. With so much uncertainty currently revolving around the world and the educational community, parents were presented with options to best support their students, themselves and their families. Given this, E-Learning or in-person schooling options were presented. This option will allow Bryan County Schools and Richmond Hill High School to best support all stakeholders through varied modalities of instruction. If you are still contemplating the decision or would like to learn more, I have provided a link below: https://www.bryan.k12.ga.us/page/backtoschool
For those of you selecting in-person schooling, please know that measures will be implemented to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 by re-arranging the way we do some of the following to include:
- Arrival/Dismissal
- Class Arrangement
- Class Change
- Bathroom Usage/Cleaning
- Lunch
- Requirement of Face Coverings for ALL
- Instructional Areas sanitized between blocks
- Etc.
With the mounting changes, we communicated earlier this month the changes to our Open House. RHHS Open House is scheduled for Tuesday, August 11. This year we are looking forward to hosting a virtual open house from 5:00-6:30. You and your child are welcome to view our Open House Video School Tour, explore our extracurricular offerings, access your class schedule via PowerSchool, learn more about your teachers through their pre-recorded informational videos posted to our website. You will also find out how to log in to each teacher’s specific Google Meets to speak with them in real time and ask questions as they arise from 5:00--6:30pm. Detailed information will be shared via Thrillshare messaging, email as well as posted to all of Richmond Hill High School’s Social Media Platforms prior to August 11.
When it comes to support, we are well aware and planning for our students to return to a supportive RHHS environment! We understand that the recent months have been eventful, traumatic and ultimately life-changing for all of our students! Coupling COVID-19 trauma, social justice inequities and the stress of the day to day we are prepared to tackle these issues together and continue to build on the achievements and successes for which RHHS has become known. As educators, we understand that our job is much deeper than the content and truly take great pride in creating opportunities and providing high levels of support for ALL students! We stand by this pledge and look forward to working with you this upcoming year! After all, we are #BetterTogether as we #BTH at Richmond Hill High School.

Campus Beautification (8/8/20)
Pine straw thrown out to beautify our beds, we will have over 300 bales that will need to be dispersed throughout the campus.
Shrubs and hedges that line/flank buildings need to be trimmed (in front of east gym lobby, east cafeteria, west campus entrance, east campus entrance)
“Beds” among our parking lots need to be weeded
Weeds in cement in parking lots need to be sprayed
Redtips at football field need to be trimmed
Entrance Sign needs to be pressure washed as well as a few other parts of the building.
Bring your positive attitude, strong work ethic and of course the tools of your choice to help get this project done! Your commitment to RHHS is appreciated and will not go unnoticed.
