Open House
We will hold Open House on January 26th from 5:30 - 7:00, but we will still keep our February 15th date for Parent / Teacher conferences and the Junior Parent meeting.
Our Open House will be earlier in the semester, so parents are familiar with 865 Academies and the new courses we are offering prior to their student registering for courses.
Parents will be able to visit the Pathway Fair from 5:30 - 7:00, and Dr. Hatfield will lead the parent meeting at 6:00. This will allow parents to either visit the fair before or after the meeting depending on what is best for their schedule.
Spring Tutoring Schedule
News from The 865 Academies
Announcement of Career Academies--January 26
After this announcement, current Freshmen and Sophomores will choose their academy and pathway. Pathways consist of four courses in the same career cluster. Completion of a pathway ensures that students have the opportunity for AP courses, state dual credit, dual enrollment, a national industry certification, and/or a practicum or work-based learning experience.
More information will be communicated in January ahead of registration.
Career Pathway Fair and Open House this week!
With over 70 pathway, college, trade school, and industry professional displays, our first annual Career Pathway Fair will provide students with an exciting opportunity to see themselves in an exciting and fulfilling future.
To prepare students for our 865 Academy roll-out, our Freshmen Seminar teachers have spent January preparing our freshmen for the event. Freshmen will choose their pathway on Friday, January 22.
Sophomores and juniors will have an assembly on Monday, January 23 to discuss the implications of the academy model on spring registration and the remainder of their high school careers. Juniors and seniors have other college and career events scheduled this spring, so their participation in this event will be limited.
Parents are encouraged to attend our Open House from 5:30PM to 7:00PM on Thursday, January 26. Parents may visit the pathway displays before or after the 6:00 Opening session in the auditorium hosted by our administration. This session will provide information about 865 Academies and its impact on building the futures of our students.
