What a start to the new year. We know this is a difficult time and we appreciate all you are doing to support your child(ren) and our school. Virtual learning is challenging for everyone. Please know that the teachers are working hard to provide engaging and rigorous lessons. Please reach out to the teacher if you and your child are experiences challenges completing work. Every teacher has live office time daily. Outside of that time, the teachers are great at responding to emails.
Please note that midterms will be coming home Friday. They will look different as they are more narratives. You will receive an email with your child's midterms. Be aware that teachers have placed the number of missing assignments that students have on Skyward on this midterm. Take time to go into your child's Skyward account to figure out what the assignment is and have your child complete it. Remember that this should be the child's work and not work done by others. We need to get a true idea of what a student is capable of.
I am sure that being virtual has opened many of your eyes. Parents have shared that their students need help with the work and get many answers wrong. That is what teachers need to be able to see so they can pull them into small groups and help support. I also many parents have gained a greater appreciation for what teachers do on a daily basis. That is greatly appreciated. Send your love to the teachers. They could use that extra encouragement.
Take time to review the information in the newsletter. There is valuable information that everyone needs to be aware of. Enjoy your Labor Day weekend. Have fun with the kids. Relax and rejuvenate yourself as well. We know the challenges and want to make sure you all are taking care of yourselves as well.
Thanks,
Keana Parquet
