ATTENDANCE
27J processes all our sickness attendance. To alleviate confusion we have put sick and non sick links on the BECS main website. Calling the main office or leaving a voicemail is no longer available as we are required to share so they can filter out covid items. In order for an absence to be excused the parent/guardian must report it by clicking on either the “Illness- Attendance” button or the “Non-Illness Attendance” button. Should your student get COVID you would utilize the Illness-Attendance button and the 27J Covid Coordinator will be in touch. Please know that the front office is not able to report these absences for you. This assures all parties are notified to correctly update your students' attendance.
Here are the links if you would like to bookmark them:

COVID
27J is taking over as the COVID student coordinator. With the attendance process change, this allows us to share and streamline covid information. It is important when your student is ill to fill out the BECS website attendance link for any and all illnesses. If you report it as covid the 27J coordinator will reach out to assist you.

Social Media
Social media is a part of daily life for adults and teenagers, however, It can be very difficult for middle school students to know how to handle the social-emotional effects of issues that arise from these sites. Here is a pdf from Common Sense Education, which includes conversation starters to utilize when talking to your child about the many topics that arise when using social media. Please take the time to talk with your child to ensure they are using social media appropriately and safely.
