For a while now, we have been looking for an engaging way to provide you with helpful information relating to the media center and technology that will hopefully make your life at Page a bit easier. Knowing how limited your time is, we thought a user-friendly newsletter would be the best way to communicate these hints and tools to you. For our first edition, we’re including login directions for a cluster of websites you will frequently need to access, as well as a tech tool recommended by one of your colleagues, Mr. Cartwright. We hope you enjoy this newsletter!

How Do I?

…Laminate, Copy, or Access Bulletin Board Supplies?

The laminator is located in the back office of the Media Center with the Professional Collection and Video Collection. This area is for teachers only. It will be available for use during media center hours on school days. Laminating must be done by teachers. If you have not used the laminator before, please see Sally or Jenn for instructions. It is very important that no settings be changed. Do NOT turn off the laminator when you are finished. Always replace the clip on the end of the laminator film.

The copier will be available for use during media center hours on school days. All copies must be made by teachers using your code. PLEASE DO NOT SEND STUDENTS TO MAKE COPIES.

… Schedule Time in the Media Center?

  1. Start at Page High’s Website.
  2. Click on Staff, Schedule a Space.
  3. Choose the space you want to schedule.
  4. View the schedule and find an opening.
  5. Fill out the Google Form under the calendar.
  6. You MUST receive a confirmation email from Sally or Jenn.

…Post Slides to Carousel?

  1. Visit http://10.57.50.50.
  2. Post your own slides to Carousel from school. Username: user, Password, tech. DO NOT share this info with students.

… Access Sharepoint?

  1. Start at Page High’s Website.
  2. Choose Staff, Staff Login Sites, Sharepoint.
  3. At school, you will be logged in automatically.
  4. At home, you will need to type in gcs-domain\username.

… Create a Turnitin.com Account?

  1. Visit www.turnitin.com.
  2. Click on Create Account.
  3. Choose Instructor.
  4. Account # 80365
  5. Password: phs2013

…Access Edmodo?

  1. Visit http://gcsnc.edmodo.com.
  2. Select I’m a Teacher.
  3. Enter School Code qfoe4n.
  4. Enter your information to sign up.
  5. You can create a Group for your classes. Students can join by using your Group Code.

… Access my Discovery Streaming Account? (for videos, images, songs, poems, etc.)

  1. Go to http://gcsnc.discoveryeducation.com.
  2. You will automatically be logged in from school.
  3. Students are loaded in from PowerSchool and may log in using their student ID # and birth date.
