Week at a Glance - May 1

Faculty Meeting Wednesday!

Teacher Appreciation Party - Thursday, May 4

Please join me and the PTSA at the annual Appreciation Party Thursday, May 4 from 3:30-6pm at the Durand Mill Clubhouse. As always, there will be delicious food and beverages (yes, adult beverages), but the best part is the fellowship between staff members! Also, the PTSA will be announcing the nominations and winner of the Teacher of Excellence award - there were a record number of nominations this year.

The Clubhouse is literally a five minute drive from campus. I look forward to seeing you there!

Note: Druid Hills will be holding our Teacher Appreciation Week May 8-12.

Congratulations Mr. Gray!

Mr. Gray has been offered a Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching grant to Greece. He is one of approximately 35 U.S. citizens who will travel abroad through the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program in 2017-2018. Recipients of Fulbright grants are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement, as well as demonstrated leadership potential.

Senior Exam Exemption

Due end of day Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

Send a list to Ms. Standifer of seniors (with their class period) who have exempted your exam. See form for exemption qualifications.

The exemption form is to be filled out by students and parents in order to expedite the check-out procedure with Ms. Standifer. Teachers do not need to fill out or sign the exemption form. Teachers only need to send the student list and period to Ms. Standifer.

Students may pick up the form in the attendance office starting April 27. You may also distribute forms to your students.

Please contact me with questions, comments, concerns.

Thanks, Mr. Joyner

MAP Testing

We will begin MAP testing May 9- May 19. I am attaching the schedule for testing. If there are conflicts with proctoring please let me know in advance so that you may switch with another teacher. Also many of you have asked about availability of labs over the next few weeks. I hope this helps. Thank you for your assistance with this last round of testing. Have a great day!
