Team Columbia
Average is OFFICIALLY over!
A Short Week, But A Busy Week
Team Columbia:
I have been just elated to be the Principal of Columbia High School this week. Our students have truly put Columbia on the map in Athletics as well as Academics and Extracurriculars. We have a State Champion and a State Runner-up in Wrestling, the first in the school's history. It is amazing what our wrestling coaches have managed to build in five years. Our Varsity Boys Basketball Team had an amazing season going to the Regional Tournament. They have set the tone for an even better season next year. We had students travel to Washington, D.C. to participate in a National Model UN Competition. We also had students participate in our Saturday ACT Bootcamp last weekend and we had a group of students travel to Vanderbilt University as part of the Cap and Gown Project.
Our students have been living up to the hastag: ONWARD AND UPWARD!!! We should be extremely proud of what we are accomplishing at Columbia. We have students preparing themselves to be "College and Career Ready." We should indeed be proud of all of our students!!!!
We have a short week, but it will be a busy one. We have ASVAB and Work Keys testing and our Black History Program this week. Please make sure that you familiarize yourself with those things.
We will be operating the 4 Period Lunch Schedule on Wednesday and Thursday. The bell schedule and lunch assignments are below. Teachers on 5th and 6th block planning will have lunch duty. A lunch duty schedule will be forwarded to you.
Again, be proud of what is going on at Columbia. We have some amazing things taking place. Thanks to you, whatever your part, for making these things happen. #OnwardAndUpward.

Attendance Procedures Update
- After our PD, we received a lot of helpful feedback. We will be making the following updates to the pupil referral procedures to further streamline the process:
- Advisory teachers will now be solely responsible for referring their students for all day unexcused absences (including the first semester).
- Teachers may also refer for their individual classes (excessive absences or tardies); however, this is not a requirement.
- Please read the updated FAQ for your assistance regarding our new schoolwide pupil referral process.
- Letter to Freshman Advisory Homerooms (Monday)
- Letters will be in advisory mailboxes for distribution during advisory.
- Students will need to initial receipt of the letter.
