Essential Workers All Day and After School Child Care

Free all day and after school child care is available (while funds last) through December 31, 2020 for qualifying workers through the Essential Workers Program. There are no income restrictions to participate in the Essential Workers Program. Employees of public school districts are classified as essential workers. If you have a child who is age 3 to 13, you are eligible to receive free child care as follows:

  • How do I complete the form to see if my child qualifies for free Pre K in the Essential Workers Program? Here is the link to the form: PreK Essential Workers Program

  • How do I sign my child up for Springdale Schools Pre K? Pick up an enrollment packet at the Early Childhood Center 409 N Thompson, Springdale, AR 72764.

  • How old does my child need to be in order to sign up for Pre-K? Children have to be 3 or 4 by August 1, 2020.

  • If I qualify for the Pre-K program as an essential worker, can my child also participate in The After School Program under the Essential Worker Program? Yes, your child can enroll in both Pre-K and the after school program.

  • What is the cost? If a child is approved through the Essential Workers Program there is no cost (while funds last) for either Pre K or the After School Program through December 31, 2020.

  • When do I enroll my child for after school care? You can enroll now and reserve a spot for after school care, held at your child’s school, beginning the first day of school. The After School Program operates from the time school is dismissed until 6:00 p.m.

  • What is the cost of after school care? If your child is approved through the essential workers program, there is no cost (while funds last) through December 31, 2020.

  • Is the essential worker program based on income? No, the essential worker program pays childcare for all essential workers regardless of income.

  • Are there additional financial aid options? Yes, the Ottawa Tribe of Oklahoma pays childcare for children in Arkansas that are affiliated with any nationally recognized tribe. Please visit the following site to apply for the assistance program:
