Butler News December
Libby Nickoli, Principal
Introducing, Mr. Jordan Black, our long term music sub for Mrs. Swift!
My name is Mr. Black, and I am very excited to be teaching you music for these next few months! Mrs. Swift has asked me to write a little bit about myself so that you know what to expect when I show up. To start off, music is my favorite thing in the world. I love to sing and I love to play piano. When you see me, I bet you will notice that I always have headphones around my neck. That's because whenever I have spare time I spend it listening to my favorite songs. My favorite kinds of music are Broadway, Classical and Soul.
I am also a big sports fan. I spend a lot of my time in the gym playing sports like basketball and racquetball or lifting weights. It's very important to me that I stay healthy and exercise is an important part of being healthy. Of course, one of my favorite things to do is help turn elementary students like you into talented young musicians.
Now you know a few things about me and I'm eager to learn things about all of you as well!

Thank you, Mr. Buck for hanging our sign!
Excellent Article on reading with your children!
A big thank you to our families for making Family Literacy Night a success!
We kicked off our Scholastic Book Fair with the theme Artic Adventure. We used Tacky the Penquin as our anchor book and invited Tacky the Penguin to make an appearance. Frozen sisters Ana and Elsa also joined us taking pictures with children and conducting a Karaoke sing a long. Our teachers made over 125 penguin crafts in our art room, and families could stop by our gym for winter games! LEO Club students from the High School volunteered their time and helped at various areas and made snow cones for all to enjoy!
We look forward to hosting three more Family Engagement Nights this year; math, science, and essentials night! Stay tuned for more details!
