Principal's Message

We cannot express how great it is to have the students in building and getting to interact with them every day. In addition to many other outstanding qualities, these first two and a half weeks of school have demonstrated just how kind, hardworking, and helpful Sherwood High School students are. They are doing an excellent job of returning to school and our entire community should be extremely proud of them!

We'd also like to send a huge thank you to all of our families who have adjusted to our changes in our traffic flow! The small adjustments by everyone have resulted in a large improvement to the process, especially in the mornings. Thank you again!

Please remember that masks are required for all spectators over 5 years old at our football game tonight if you cannot maintain six feet of distance from others. This includes all students, staff, and families. Thank you for helping to keep everyone safe.

Have a great weekend and Go Bowmen!

Mr. Mitchell

2021 SHS Homecoming Dance

Our 2021 Homecoming Dance will be held outdoors at the SHS stadium on Saturday, October 16th, from 7:00pm-10:00pm.

Tickets will go on sale Monday, September 27th, and may be purchased at anytime through our online ticketing system (more information to come on Monday), or before school, during lunch and after school at the Bookkeeper window near the front office.

Tickets must be pre-purchased and will be sold until the end of late lunch on Thursday, October 14th. There will not be late or at-the-door ticket sales. Early bird tickets are $10 with an ASB sticker and $20 without the ASB sticker and are available through Friday, October 8th. On Monday, October 11th, the ticket price increases to $15 with an ASB sticker and $25 without the ASB sticker.

In the past, students have been required to be current on their school fees and Career Credit to attend the dance. For the 2021 Homecoming Dance, we will not have this requirement in place as we are returning to in-person instruction. These requirements will most likely return for our 2022 Prom and all dances in the future.

A few items to note for this year regarding the dance are:

  • Only SHS students are allowed to attend the dance, guests are not permitted.
  • SHS students must be on the ticket list and bring photo identification to enter. The physical tickets are only a memento.
  • All participants will be subject to a breathalyzer to enter the dance and any purses or small bags are subject to search upon entry. Large bags are to be left at home or in a car. There will not be a coat or bag check.

Homecoming Parade

We need 20 volunteers to be stationed along the Homecoming Parade route on Friday, October 15! The parade starts promptly at 3:45pm at the Sherwood Charter School. Volunteers will work alongside the Sherwood PD to help cover traffic control. Thank you for your support! To volunteer please email the Activities Director at Sherwood High School:

Parents, new this year, please report attendance absences to the following email address

Take some time to refresh yourself on our attendance policies here.

Masks are required in the school at all times unless actively eating or drinking. Masks are required outdoors when 6 ft. distancing is not possible. In the classrooms, physical distancing of 3 ft will be maintained to every extent possible.

As a reminder, please have your student bring 3 masks to school daily. So that students have a back up in case their mask breaks, gets dirty, or lost.

Those needing assistance getting to the stadium for football games, must park in the lot in front of the high school (nearest to the main entrance).

There will be a shuttle running from the front lot to the stadium beginning at 5:30 pm and ending shortly before the game starts. It will resume after the game ends.

Career Center

Students that purchased an ASB Sticker before picture day but did not get it printed on their ID card, please come to the Bookkeeper window with your ID card to receive the ASB sticker.

Student Drop Off/Pick Up Guidelines

In order to help improve traffic flow before and after school please note the following guidelines and suggestions for the SHS Parking Lots:

  • There is no stopping or student dropoff or pick up on the driveway into the parking lot. All student dropoff and pickup needs to occur in the area in front of the school. (see the diagram below)

  • Vary dropoff times before school to avoid the congestion from 8:10-8:25

  • Vary pickup times afterschool to avoid the congestion from 3:20-3:35

  • Consider dropping off students in upper parking lot and enter the school through the commons

  • If possible, approach the school from the North on Elwert to avoid congestion at 99W and the roundabout
