Community-Based Instruction
Home Depot Participants visited Home Depot during a community experience. | Locating Items Locating items by navigating the store and matching them to our lists. | Identifying Prices What was the cost of the item? Participants apply their skills in the community. |

Activities
Oktoberfest! Participants celebrated Oktoberfest and their social skills during social group. | Using Circulars Participants browse circulars to shop in preparation for trips into the community. | Money Uno Using the game of "uno" to practice our money identification skills. |
M.O.V.E. Participants are always MOVE - ing. Second Home accesses the M.O.V.E. curriculum to encourage weekly movement. | Mix It UpParticipants mix up pudding with manual and electric mixers to make seasonal treats. | Emotional Art Using color to help participants identify feelings, our friends worked together to make representative artwork. |

Program Reminders & Updates
- Birthdays: Please inform our teacher at least 1 week in advance if you are planning on sending anything in for your loved one's birthday (treats, pizza, etc). Late requests may not be accommodated.
- COVID-19 Daily Screening: Daily screenings remain in effect. Participant Screening Form
- Drop Off/Pick Up: If you or a representative for your loved one drives them to Second Home, please be reminded to be promptly on time and pull all the way up to make room for others.
- Volunteering: Our first volunteer opportunity for parents/guardians will be on 10/28 as decorating contest judges! Sign-up will be through provided links only, and October's volunteer opportunity is currently full. Be on the lookout for more opportunities to come!

- October 28: Pumpkin Decorating Contest & Early Dismissal for Participants (Staff PM PD) - Dismissed at 12:00
- October 31: Second Home's Halloween Celebrations - Participants are invited to wear "work-appropriate" costumes
- November 10 & 11: Closed for Participants & Staff - NJEA Convention
- November 23: Early Dismissal for Participants & Staff - Dismissed at 12:00
November 24 & 25: Closed for Participants & Staff - Thanksgiving Break
