Students were asked to write positive messages to students at Tisinger and they created a pop art project in the style of artist Roy Lichtenstein

Students studied the works of artist Keith Haring and created a Haring inspired piece that included a poem describing the movements in their art.

I also incorporated vocabulary words in my discipline plan by rewarding students that heard the 'secret' word (a vocabulary word posted outside my door)

Math Carnival night was a success and lots of FUN!
Additionally, in April, I stayed after school to help students create math costumes for the 3rd Grade vocabulary parade.

Problem Solving!
4th grade created a code and using collage and tried to solve each other's codes in class.

Music Integration
4th Grade learned about the abstract art of Russian painter, Wassily Kandinsky. Kandinsky painted what he thought music looked like as he listened to classical music. Students listened to some modern instrumental music and let their markers and paintbrush do the dancing while they created an abstract painting of their own.
