TCAP News and changes
I wanted to let you know that Lunch times will change while TCAP testing is going on in our building. Our new lunch time for the next 3 weeks will be from 10:55 - 11:20 on each day. Our recess times will also change to late afternoon once we have approval on each day from Mrs. Ford that testing is complete for the day.
There will be NO HOMEWORK during our TCAP testing weeks for any grade level. This is per Mrs. Ford so that the students can mentally focus on preparing for the test itself and relax before hand. I will say that I ask ALL students to practice Moby Max and I-Ready at home if you are able.
Students should know how to access it and their usernames/passwords are the same. Please let me know if there are any issues with logging on to access those programs. Please continue to read daily at home as well. MOST IMPORTANTLY, please talk with your child and help prepare them for our tests next week. Practice all of the good things such as eating breakfast each day, getting plenty of sleep, studying each night, test-taking strategies and just reviewing content you might wish to at home.
I promise that we will be focusing heavily each day across all subjects how best to prepare for TCAP. We will continue to learn in science and social studies as well but I want you to know that we are preparing how to actually prepare for the test and review content since the beginning of the year.
Lastly, please review the packet that was sent home on Friday per Mrs. Ford. It has all of the important events and other information needed to prepare for our tests.
If you have any other questions, please contact me anytime!

Absences!!!
I hope your weekend has been a pleasant one. I am leaving a brief message here about attendance. Recently, as a school, we have had many students already missed a high percentage of days out of the entire school year and it seems as though the number is still continuing to climb.
I would ask that you please try your best to ensure that your student comes to school everyday unless they are of course running a fever, seriously ill otherwise, or some other emergency comes up unexpectedly. As we get closer to the end of the school year, there will be end of the year tests and yes, second grade will have a test that they take as well.
It is ESPECIALLY important that your child is here at school everyday but ESPECIALLY these next 2 1/2 months as testing will begin then and our standards become more compact and in depth. Missing even 1-2 days in a week will put your child behind in learning crucial parts of our standards starting this month!
Thank you for all that you do and for helping your child out in any way that you can! Please let me know of any concerns or questions you have at any time.
Thanks and have a great day!

Transportation!!!
Please remember that if your child is changing their transportation from the regular method on their registration, you need to notify myself with a handwritten or typed note that also has your signature. Please continue to do this each time your child is going home a different way than normal.
If I don't receive a note about the change, I have to send them home their regular way.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!
